Things aren't looking too good for the Wild or Flames after today, although the Wild are in a bigger whole than Calgary. If Calgary would stop taking so many stupid penalties and maybe put more than 15 shots on net they would have a better chance to win.
I was pleased with the Senators game today, although it was scary to see another player have to be taken off on a stretcher. Luckily it looks like Patrick Eaves only has a concussion and nothing more serious. Who said that the East is soft and don't play as grueling a style as the West. The Sens Pens game this afternoon was probably the most physical game I have seen yet this playoffs.
The Nucks and Stars series looks like it will continue to go back and forth as both Luongo and Turco are providing their clubs spectacular goaltending.

Things got a little rough in San Jose last night.

No surprises here after game one in each series. Well the fact that Datsyuk scored could be considered a miracle since he usually pulls on his invisibly cloak on during the playoffs. Not the Brett Hull invisibility where he sneaks into the slot and scores, but just plain old invisible. So is the monkey off his back now? Only time will tell, but the fact he got the goal in his first game should be a confidence booster. Detroit looked pretty good from what I saw last night. Mikka Kiprusoff did all he could, but if your team isn't scoring you're not going to win.

Buffalo also had a strong start against the Isles. Don't be too surprised if that ends up being either a sweep. And if its not a sweep it should be a short series.

Tampa Bay put up a good effort but some dumb mistakes are what cost them the game. On Jersey's last goal Holmqvist made a brutal give away instead of just freezing the puck.

Here's hoping that tonights game in Vancouver won't go into quadruple overtime.

And on a final note. I never liked Mike Riberio, and I still don't like him. He recently made comments that he was glad that Montreal never made the playoffs. Well up yours. Riberio was an embarrassment to the club. Who could forget his little squirmy weasel dance he did a few years against Boston, the 'injury' where he lay sprawling on the ice like he had just been shot. Numerous people handed him out an Oscar for that one. And then he gets on the bench and taunts the Bruins players. I'm Montreal traded him for a little used overpaid defenseman.

And the Oscar goes to.................Riberio!

Game on

Well the first period between the Sens and Pens is over. The Sens looked pretty good after 20 minutes while the Pens looked like a young unexperienced team that is a little nervous. But its only 20 minutes and its a long series.

So I'm doing this blog just because it makes me feel like a hockey expert. I think I know my stuff good enough to make some bold predictions and make some good analysis. What does that bonehead Cherry know?

My Predictions for the playoffs? Well I have them written down but I won't say what they are until after our draft on Saturday.
